Choosing an air conditioner: square metres are only the start

Too small runs nonstop, too big keeps switching on and off. What decides the capacity besides the floor area, and why inverter is not marketing.

The most common mistake is choosing a unit by floor area alone. The square metres are the starting point, but the same 25 m² room heats and cools differently facing south or north, under a roof or on the ground floor, in old walls or behind new insulation.

An undersized unit runs without pause and never reaches the set temperature. An oversized one reaches it too fast, so it keeps switching on and off: uncomfortable, thirstier, and hard on the compressor. An inverter softens both problems by matching its output to the need, but even it cannot save a wrongly sized unit.

That is why the site carries a sizing guide: type in the square metres, say how the room is insulated, and you get a capacity recommendation. For the exact model, that is what we are here for: call us or come to the showroom in Čitluk and see and hear the units live.
