The manufacturer
The old name returns: GENERAL
Fujitsu air conditioners are made by a Japanese company that has built air conditioners since 1960. Until 1985 it was called General; after its alliance with Fujitsu it became Fujitsu General. Since 1 January 2026 it carries its old name again, GENERAL, and the GENERAL mark is coming to new units step by step.

1946
First uses the name General, as a trademark. Today it is registered in more than 120 countries and regions.
1960
Its first air conditioner: a window unit for Japanese homes.
1971
Air conditioners for Kuwait, where the outdoor temperature tops 50 °C.
1978
Opens its own company in Europe.
1985
A year after its alliance with Fujitsu, the company is renamed Fujitsu General.
2022
Starts building air-to-water heat pumps in Europe as well.
2026
GENERAL again from 1 January, in the year the company turns 90.

Frequent questions
What capacity do I need for my space?
Mostly on the floor area and the insulation. Enter the square metres and your town in the sizing guide and you get a recommendation for an air conditioner. For a heat pump, the calculator also takes into account how cold the winter is where you live.
How long is the warranty?
Two years, and up to five with regular annual maintenance. What it covers is on the Warranty and registration page.
Do you install as well?
Yes. Our own installers do it, not subcontractors: we agree a time, arrive with the equipment and leave only when the unit runs.
Do you service units out of warranty?
Yes: diagnostics, original parts and repairs in and out of warranty.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, we offer payment in instalments. Call us or send an enquiry and we agree the terms.
